‘Aladdin’ Toy Images Showcase Will Smith’s Full-Blue Genie Costume

Aladdin toy images feature the Genie (Will Smith) in a fully-blue costume, reflecting his more fantastical form.

Disney’s trend of remaking their classic animated movies into live-action films continues this year, with three of the studios’ most iconic stories heading to the big screen once more. Tim Burton’s Dumbo is in theaters now and Jon Favreau’s The Lion King arrives later this summer, in JulyIn between those two films, Guy Ritchie’s Aladdin hits theaters. The latest Disney live-action remake features Will Smith as the Genie, who was famously voiced by Robin Williams in the original 1992 Aladdin.

Will Smith’s Genie was front and center in a new set of Aladdin toys giving fans a look at the character wearing a fully-blue costume, which obviously reflects the Genie’s more iconic, supernatural form. Check out the intriguing image in the Instagram post below to get a new glimpse at Will Smith’s Genie.

Aladdin isn’t the only high-profile Disney movie opening over the course of the next couple of months. The Will Smith-led remake arrives almost one month after the highly-anticipated sequel Avengers: Endgame hits the big screen. Less than a month after Aladdin opens, Dark Phoenix premieres in theaters. Although Dark Phoenix wasn’t initially produced by Disney, the Fox/Disney merger has since resulted in the movie falling into the hands of the studio before its release date.

Will Smith led a comic book film of his own almost three years ago, titled Suicide Squad. Guardians of the Galaxy James Gunn is set to write and direct the upcoming sequel to the film but Will Smith will not be reprising his role of Deadshot. Although he won’t be playing Deadshot, Will Smith will be gracing the big screens this summer as another iconic character, the Genie.
