Next year, Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff will take the lead in the character’s first standalone film, appropriately titled Black Widow. Now, Just Jared reports William Hurt, who portrays Thunderbolt Ross in the MCU franchise, has been spotted on the set of Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow.

While official details on what William Hurt was filming on the set are unknown, podcaster Charles Murphy speculates he could be filming a post-credits scene for Black Widow that sets up a Thunderbolts project. Scarlett Johansson is not believed to have been on the set for William Hurt’s scenes.
William Hurt first portrayed Thunderbolt Ross in The Incredible Hulk and reprised the role in Captain America: Civil War. More recently, William Hurt’s Thunderbolt Ross made brief appearances in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

Full plot details on Marvel Studios’ Black Widow are currently under wraps, though it has been revealed that the film is set after the events of Captain America: Civil War and will see Scarlett Johansson’s Nathasha Romanoff take on the villainous Taskmaster. The film will also mark the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of Yelena Belova, the second modern-era character to use the Black Widow title in the comics.
Directed by Cate Shortland from a script written by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle, Ray Winstone, Olivier Richters, and Rachel Weisz.
Black Widow will be released in theaters on May 1, 2020.
