Winston Duke was perhaps Black Panther’s biggest breakout star. A show-stealer in every scene he was in, Winston Duke’s M’Baku first played an apparent antagonist of T’Challa before becoming one of his allies. He would go on to reprise the role for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame and is currently expected to reprise the role for the film’s sequel.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Winston Duke was asked what he knew and what he could discuss about his character in the upcoming sequel. As it turns out, Winston Duke knows about as much as we do:
Not a glimpse. We’re just waiting to see where it goes. I’ve seen nothing, I’ve heard nothing, I haven’t been told a thing. I just trust that they’re going to invest in M’Baku and tell a really bold story.
What do you all make of Winston Duke’s comments? Do you think M’Baku will play a bigger role in Black Panther 2? What do you think the film will be about? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
Here is the synopsis for Black Panther:
Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
