‘Wonder Woman 2’ Is Going To Be Partially Shot With IMAX Cameras

IMAX Corp. executive Greg Foster announced that Warner Bros. and DC’s Wonder Woman 2 will be partially shot with IMAX cameras

Wonder Woman opened to critical acclaim and broke box office records throughout 2017, leaving audiences eager to see another adventure featuring the DC Comics heroine. With a sequel reportedly set to begin production this summer, IMAX Corp executive has now revealed that select sequences from the highly-anticipated film will be shot with IMAX cameras:

“I’m excited to announce that Wonder Woman 2, which comes out in the second half of 2019, will be shot with IMAX film cameras in select sequences. This Warner Brothers DC production, the sequel of the global juggernaut from 2017, is directed by Patti Jenkins and produced by Chuck Roven and Rebecca Oakley Roven. And we couldn’t be more excited that IMAX has been chosen to be a part of the film’s design.”

Plot details for the Wonder Woman sequel are currently under wraps, though the film is said to follow the Amazonian Princess during the Cold War as she faces off against the Soviet Union in the 1980s.

Patty Jenkins will return to direct, co-write and produce the Wonder Woman sequel, working from a script by The Expendables co-writer Dave Callaham. The script is based on a treatment by Jenkins and DC President and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns.

Wonder Woman 2 stars Gal Gadot as the titular heroine, Kristen Wiig as Cheetah, and Pedro Pascal in an undisclosed role. The film is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on November 1, 2019.
