‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Director Patty Jenkins Reveals Plans For Third Film

Wonder Woman 1984  is one of next year’s most anticipated films since the success of the first film and now director Patty Jenkins has revealed that she has plans for a third film for the iconic character.

Wonder Woman was an incredible film that presented the world Diana Prince’s origin story. The film was a huge hit with fans and critics and there was no doubt there would be a sequel. Being the DC Extended Universe’s crown jewel, Wonder Woman seems to have taken the lead with DC films. Much like James Wan’s Aquaman, Wonder Woman is a film that stands great on its own and now the film will be the first in the DCEU to have a sequel.

Patty Jenkins recently sat down with Vanity Fair and shared more about the sequel and how she has plans for a third film. This is what she had to say:

“I have pretty clear plans for Wonder Woman 3. Whether I [direct] it or not, I see how her arc should end in my incarnation of Wonder Woman. I have a great passion for that.”

Patty Jenkins seems to know where she would take the character after the second film whether she is a part of it or not. This could mean that as of now if Patty Jenkins was to return for the third film if given the chance she would already know the villain of the film and journey for the titular character. With a passionate director, the film could be another success and we could be looking at an incredible thoughtful project from the director.

What do you think of Patty Jenkins’ comments? Do you hope to see a third film for the character? Share your thoughts below!

Directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she co-wrote with David Callaham and a treatment she developed with Geoff Johns, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wigg, Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Connie Nielson, and Robin Wright.

Wonder Woman 1984 will be released in theaters on June 5, 2020.
