‘Wonder Woman’: David Thewlis On His Character’s Drive In The Movie

'Wonder Woman': David Thewlis On His Character's Drive In The Movie. He talks about why Sir Patrick doesn't particularly like Diana.

Of all the characters in Wonder Woman, one of the most mysterious is David Thewlis’ Sir Patrick. He hasn’t outright stated that he’s Ares, nor do we know very much about his character in general. In a new interview via Warner Bros., David Thewlis discussed his character, Sir Patrick, and what will be driving him in the film.

“Sir Patrick’s entire drive through the other half of the story is to bring about the armistice. That’s his whole intention no matter what’s going on. He meets Diana and see in her somebody who is sympathetic to his cause quite vehemently so.”

You can watch the full interview below.

Directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis, Saïd Taghamoui and Ewen Bremmer.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman is in theaters June 2, 2017.
