‘Wonder Woman’: Patty Jenkins Talks Sequel & Joss Whedon’s Script

As Wonder Woman‘s record breaking box office success continues, fans are already eager to see what a potential sequel will have in store for audiences, with director Patty Jenkins reportedly writing the treatment for a second film. In an interview with BuzzFeed, Jenkins discussed what she is most looking forward to with a sequel and addressed the recently leaked 2006 Wonder Woman script by Joss Whedon.

Jenkins declined to comment on the criticism directed towards Whedon’s alleged Wonder Woman script:

“He’s in the DC universe now, and I don’t think there’s any reason to go there. It was what it was. I’m lucky that I’m the person who got to do it. But I don’t see what would be beneficial about comparing what he would’ve done versus what I would have done.”

Jenkins did discuss how she is looking forward to continue to fun tone of the first film with a sequel:

“There’s always a struggle in an origin story to get to the point where that superhero exists, and now I’m dying to just let loose and have a great time with her. Not for the whole movie, but in moments. I’m excited to see her power really soar, and us have a great time having a great Wonder Woman in our world. That’s what I’m craving.”

Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers… and her true destiny.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Saïd Taghmaoui.
