Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins is showing her support for Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel.

Patty Jenkins directed the first female-led superhero movie in more than a decade with 2017’s Wonder Woman, but fans won’t have to wait that long for the next one. Brie Larson is making her debut as Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel this week and the director behind DC’s Wonder Woman is excited for the Marvel Studios flick.

A sequel to Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot is currently in post-production with Patty Jenkins back in the director’s chair. Meanwhile, Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel is set to return in next month’s Avengers: Endgame after her big screen debut this week.

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg and Jude Law. The film is slated to hit theaters on March 8, 2019.
