‘Wonder Woman’ & Pennywise From ‘IT’ Top 2017’s Halloween Costumes

Move over, Harley Quinn - Wonder Woman and Pennywise the Dancing Clown (IT) are the new champions when it comes to yearly Halloween costumes.

Last year, Suicide Squad‘s Harley Quinn was one of the most-worn Halloween costumes. This year, two different characters from Warner Brothers movies to vie for the top spot, as Wonder Woman and Pennywise the Dancing Clown from IT are two of the biggest-sellers.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting on the results of a Fandango poll for the most-requested Halloween costumes based on movie characters. This poll is actually split in half for male and female demographics – and while an age range isn’t specifically given, the choices indicate that people of all ages have a great deal of interest in certain characters. Based on the results, WB and their competitor Disney ought to be very happy with these results.

For women, the #1 choice was, unsurprisingly, Wonder Woman from her eponymous movie, along with next month’s Justice League. The other choices in the top ten include Belle (Beauty & The Beast), Leia (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Annabelle (Annabelle: Creation), Rey (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) Lorraine (Atomic Blonde), Hela (Thor: Ragnarok) Ahmanet (The Mummy), Gamora (Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2), and Valkyrie (Thor: Ragnarok).

For men, the #1 choice was Pennywise the Dancing Clown from IT: Chapter One. The other choices in the top ten include the Stormtrooper (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Star-Lord (Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2), Batman (Justice League), Baby (Baby Driver), Luke Skywalker (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Wolverine (Logan), Iron Man (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales), and Kylo Ren (Star Wars: The Last Jedi).

Wonder Woman is available on home video. Its cast includes Gal Gadot as Diana Prince (Wonder Woman), Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, Lucy Davis as Etta Candy, David Thewlis as Sir Patrick Morgan, Elena Anaya as Doctor Isabel Maru (Doctor Poison), and Danny Huston as General Erich Ludendorff.

IT: Chapter One is still playing in theaters. The movie features a cast that includes Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, Jaeden Lieberher as Bill Denbrough, Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben Hanscom, Sophia Lillis as Beverly Marsh, Finn Wolfhard as Richie Tozier, Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie Kaspbrak, Chosen Jacobs as Mike Hanlon, and Wyatt Oleff as Stanley Uris.
