This summer's most highly anticipated blockbuster, Wonder Woman has now managed to take a total of $18.7 million at the international box office.
The film which debuted to $6.3 million offshores on Wednesday has now entered a total of 37 markets outside of the United States, earning another $12.1 million overseas on Thursday with the UK, Brazil, and Russia leading the pack. Warner Bros. first female-led installment of the DCEU will also hit theaters in China today which unofficial early numbers have the film set to take a total of $12 million for the day.
Wonder Woman is expected to take a total of $175 million globally this weekend, potentially breaking $90 million in North America. Man of Steel which kicked off the DCEU in 2013 opened to $196.7 million globally. Batman v Superman managed a whopping $420.1 million worldwide take when it released last year, and Suicide Squad earned $267.1 million at the worldwide box office last summer.
The film stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Robin Wright as General Antiope, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Lisa Loven Kongsli as Menalippe, Danny Huston as General Erich Ludendorff, David Thewlis as Sir Patrick Morgan, Elena Anaya as Doctor Maru, Ewen Bremner as Charlie, Saïd Taghmaoui as Sameer and Eugene Brave Rock as the Chief. ’Wonder Woman’ hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins.
