Woody Harrelson Previously Had Talks For A Marvel Or DC Movie

Actor Woody Harrelson revealed that he previously had talks with either Marvel or DC for a movie role that didn't quite pan out.

Woody Harrelson seems like the perfect kind of actor to play a snarky, quippy individual, which would suit the realm of comic book movies quite well. However, Harrelson has revealed that he previously talked with either Marvel or DC, but in the end, things didn’t work out.

Speaking with ComicBook.com to promote the highly-praised War for the Planet of the Apes, Harrelson recalled his conversation with one of the Big Two comic publishers:

“We did talk about it, actually. We had that talk but it didn’t come to fruition… It wasn’t the right time. I guess I’m open to it but I don’t know. Just, generally, I do love just little movies, little indie movies.”

So it doesn’t seem like Harrelson is opposed to the idea of appearing in a movie with capes and costumes so much as whatever project he’d been wanted for didn’t quite click with him. He’s definitely no stranger to blockbusters, as evident by his commitment with The Hunger GamesNow You See MePlanet of the Apes, and Star Wars franchises – eight movies in total in a mere six years by the time that the Han Solo movie comes out.

War for the Planet of the Apes breaks out on July 14, 2017. The film’s cast includes Andy Serkis as Caesar, Woody Harrelson as Colonel McCullough, Amiah Miller as Nova, Gabriel Chavarria as Preacher, Chad Rook as Boyle, Steve Zahn as “Bad Ape”, Karin Konoval as Maurice, Terry Notary as Rocket, Judy Greer as Cornelia, Max Lloyd-Jones as Blue Eyes, Ty Olsson as Rex, Michael Adamthwaite as Luca, Aleks Paunovic as Winter, Alessandro Juliani as Spear, and Sara Canning in an unspecified role.
