Talk about full circle!
This week’s episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier offered a proper introduction to Wyatt Russell’s John Walker after the premiere’s twist ending. In the second episode, it also didn’t take long for John Walker to be put at odds against Sam and Bucky after becoming the new Captain America.
Of course, Wyatt Russell takes over the Captain America role from Chris Evans, and over the years, we’ve learned that actors like John Krasinski and Sebastian Stan were up for the role before Evans’ decade-long turn as the character. In a bit of a meta interview with Good Morning America, it was revealed Wyatt Russell was another actor who auditioned for Captain America years before ending up on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier:
“I think that honestly, the first audition was really more just something to read, to see if I was any good at acting or not. I don’t think I was ever actually in competition for the role, but it was crazy.”
Do you think Wyatt Russell could’ve been a good Captain America? Sound-off in the comments section below!
