“I’m always open, you never close any door down, especially if it’s enjoyable,” said Brian Cox in an interview with Comicbook.com. “And certainly, the X-Men film, because I was only in the one, was really enjoyable.”
“I would revisit any time, because I just like that working atmosphere. It was a good atmosphere,” added Brian Cox.
Danny Huston portrayed a young version of William Stryker in the 2009 prequel film X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Josh Helman portrayed another younger iteration of William Stryker in the 2014 film X-Men: Days of Future Past. Don Creech portrayed the character’s father (credited as Agent Stryker) in the 2011 film X-Men: First Class.
At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige revealed that a new Fantastic Four movie is in development at Marvel Studios. In addition, Feige teased that “mutants” are also coming to the MCU, but he didn’t offer any other details on the studio’s plans for the X-Men.
This past March, Disney closed its $71 billion acquisition of 21st Century Fox’s entertainment assets. Once the deal was complete, the film rights of characters like the Fantastic Four and the X-Men were handed over to Marvel Studios.
