‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ International Trailer Shows Jean Grey’s True Power

Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) unleashes her true power in the new trailer for X-MenDark Phoenix.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is adapting the Dark Phoenix Saga for the big screen. The storyline has already been adapted in X-Men: The Last Stand but this new version of the story looks to aim a bit closer to the comic book source material. The X-Men may be back at Marvel Studios but Dark Phoenix is still on track for a June 2019 release date, remaining in its own universe.

20th Century Fox has released a new international trailer for the film and it shows a glimpse at some new footage from the exciting fourth entry in this post-First Class franchise. Check out the new international trailer for X-Men: Dark Phoenix below to get a glimpse at all of the Jean Grey-centric action.

Sophie Turner will be reprising her role as Jean Grey from 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse. Fans might remember that during the finale of that film, Jean Grey uses her true power to completely annihilate Apocalypse. Turner will now seemingly be the lead of this long-awaited film when it finally arrives in June.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is directed by Simon Kinberg and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain.

“In DARK PHOENIX, the X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.”

The film is set to hit theaters on June 7, 2019.
