For some background, this started with Chris Pratt’s recent appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” Nothing really out of the ordinary about that, but The Hollywood Reporter tweeted about the interview, saying that the Guardians of the Galaxy star, fresh from fasting, was talking about his spiritual side with Stephen Colbert. This is where Ellen Page entered the story yesterday, as she retweeted The Hollywood Reporter’s article, noting that Chris Pratt attends a church that is famously against LGBT persons. Here is the X-Men star’s tweet:
So there’s the context for that. Then, earlier today, Ellen Page took to social media again to explain just why she called out the Guardians star. To Page, if an actor is part of an organization that hates a certain group of people, then said the actor should not be surprised if someone- in this case, Ellen Page- wonders why it isn’t addressed. To Page, being anti-LGBT is wrong, and if those discriminated types want to speak their feelings, she believes that people should listen. Here are those particular tweets from today:
This isn’t a political page or forum, so we’re not even going to attempt to wade into that pool. That being said, what do you think of Ellen Page calling attention to Chris Pratt’s church and faith? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
In the meantime, you can see the X-Men actress star in The Umbrella Academy, which hits Netflix on February 15. You can see Chris Pratt in Avengers: Endgame, which arrives in theaters on April 26, 2019.
