Brian Michael Bendis Gives Brief Update On Kitty Pryde X-Men Film

Among the many planned X-Men spin-off films that 20th Century Fox had in development, a movie around Kitty Pryde was one of them. The plan was for Deadpool director Tim Miller and comic writer Brian Michael Bendis to helm the project. Like a lot of Fox’s Marvel projects, things remain uncertain with Disney’s acquisition, which itself is a guessing game with how often it’s been pushed back.

Sure, DanielRPK has said that these projects were scrapped, but hey, DanielRPK says a lot of things. But until we find out one way or the other, Brian Michael Bendis provided a brief update on the film yesterday. So someone asked Bendis on Twitter, after hearing the writer on the Word Balloon Podcast, about the status of the Kitty Pryde X-Men film and whether it was still happening. Bendis responded that he was working on it at the moment, saying it’s surreal to be working in the X-Mansion and Fortress of Solitude at the same time.

Have a look at what Bendis had to say about Kitty Pryde X-Men film in the tweet below.

Like most of Fox’s projects, the company has to continue in the event that the Disney acquisition falls through. Perhaps Bendis is indeed still working on the Kitty Pryde X-Men film that could eventually be folded into the MCU itself. After all, there are those rumors of X-Men related shows for Disney+, but again, that’s all rumor territory.

Would Fox’s Marvel projects be folded into the MCU somehow or retooled for that cinematic universe somehow? Could the Kitty Pryde project be one such film? Let us know your thoughts on Brian Michael Bendis’ words about the Kitty Pryde project in the comments below and stay tuned for any and all updates on Fox’s X-Men world.

In the meantime, stay tuned for Dark Phoenix, which hits theaters on June 7, 2019.
