Although Wan sent an exclusive look at the film for Hall H attendees, the official footage from the film did not include Abdul-Mateen’s Black Manta. In fact, there has yet to be an official hint at what Black Manta may look like in the new movie.
Recently, a fan on Twitter asked Abdul-Mateen about when he may tease about one of the most crucial elements of the character’s design: the head armor. Interestingly enough, Abdul-Mateen had an intriguing reply:
Now let’s take this into perspective first. It is possible that Abdul-Mateen is joking about sharing a hint regarding Black Manta’s head armor. For all it’s worth, the actor may end up sharing an image of him wearing something else on his head that does not closely resemble the head armor in the slightest.
But either way, fans should not be surprised if either Abdul-Mateen or Wan unveil an image that features Black Manta in all of his glory. As someone who had the opportunity to see the exclusive Hall H first look, Wan was not lying at all when he stated that he aimed to make the film a swashbuckling adventure.
