Shazam! star Zachary Levi used a recent photo with Asher Angel to create hilarious new slang for the term “social media.”
When it comes to blockbusters like the Marvel films and the DC films, reshoots are a very normal practice. In recent years, there have been many horror stories coming from sets where much of a film was reshot, as seen with Justice League, Suicide Squad, The Predator, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This has caused the term “reshoots” to send shutters down the spine of many fans, but they aren’t always something to worry about.
In fact, several films right now such as Captain Marvel and Shazam! are in the midst of reshoots. Shazam! director David F. Sandberg has confirmed that the reshoots aren’t to remove DC references or change the tone. Zachary Levi, who plays the film’s titular hero, recently released a photo via Instagram with co-star Asher Angel in which Levi invents a hilarious way to say “social media.” Check out the photo in the post below.
Shazam! is set to hit theaters in April of next year, about a month after Captain Marvel, the next addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Coincidentally, the two share an interesting past as the DC hero used to carry the name Captain Marvel decades before the invention of the Marvel comics character. It will be interesting to see whether or not that little bit of history will be mentioned in either film, but fans will just have to wait a few more months to see them on the big screen to find out.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Shazam! as soon as more information becomes available. Which upcoming DC movie are you looking forward to the most? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
