Zachary Levi ‘Shazam!’ Promo Features Classic Superman Quote

Zachary Levi looks to an iconic Superman line for guidance in the latest promotional footage for Shazam!.

Aquaman is heading to home video in just a few weeks, after wrapping up an incredibly successful theatrical box office run. The next installment of the DC Extended Universe Shazam! hits theaters shortly after and it will introduce audiences to a new big screen hero played by Zachary Levi.

Warner Bros. has released the latest promo for Shazam!, which features Zachary Levi’s titular character and his foster brother Freddy (Jack Dylan Grazer) seeing what kind of abilities the amateur superhero has. For guidance, Freddy quotes an iconic Superman line and it doesn’t quite work out for the amateur superhero. Check out the new Shazam! footage below.

Ben Affleck recently left the role of the DCEU’s Batman and since then, many fans have begun to worry about Henry Cavill’s future as Superman. There’s been no official word yet on whether or not Henry Cavill will play Superman in another film down the line but hopefully, fans will be able to see the actor as the iconic hero at least once more during this era of the DCEU.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Shazam! as soon as more information becomes available. Do you hope to see more Superman references in the film? Which Superman film has been your favorite so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Djimon Hounsou.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.
