Almost a month ago, it was reported that Zack Snyder would return to filmmaking, directing a zombie film for Netflix called Army of the Dead. This is one of the first projects Zack Snyder took upon with his company, The Stone Quarry, after exiting DC’s Justice League after the loss of his daughter. Zack Snyder will direct the movie while his wife, Deborah Snyder, is set to produce it alongside Wesley Coller. While the story of the film was developed by Zack Snyder, the script for Army of the Dead was penned by Joby Harold.
You can check out the official synopsis for Army of the Dead below.
“The adventure is set amid a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, during which a man assembles a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.”
After seemingly teasing his appearance in Army of the Dead, it seems Dave Bautista is well on his way to star in Zack Snyder’s new Netflix film. Dave Bautista is also being eyed to join James Gunn’s new take on DC’s The Suicide Squad while slamming Disney for sacking James Gunn and allegedly empowering horrible people online. It’s very likely we’ll see Dave Bautista again as well when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters next month.

While Zack Snyder won’t be carrying on with the DCEU, the cinematic universe he kicked off in 2013 is moving forward with Shazam! next month. Here is the synopsis for it:
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).
Directed by David F. Sandberg, DC Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Ron Cephas.
Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019. Shazam! will be followed by Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019
