Zack Snyder released some new images of Ben Affleck from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on Vero and he holds the actor’s Caped Crusader in high regards. In a caption, Zack Snyder even goes as far as to call Ben Affleck the perfect Batman. You can check out the post below.
Ben Affleck is clearly a fan favorite as Batman. People are petitioning for him to stay in the role and it’s clear that he loves the character. But, alas the actor’s future as Batman may be coming to an end. Matt Reeves is set to direct The Batman and it’s said that the studio wants the film to go into production as soon as 2019. If the rumors are true, DC Films and Reeves may cast a much younger actor as Batman.
The director turned in the initial draft of the script in September and Heroic Hollywood’s owner Umberto Gonzalez has revealed Reeves is set to deliver a rewrite of the script by the end of 2018. Plot details for The Batman are still under wraps, though the project is rumored to be centered on a younger Caped Crusader. Reeves himself has confirmed that the film will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic.
The Batman is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC Films, including The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.
The DCEU continues this month with Aquaman, which is in theaters now, followed by Shazam! on April 5, 2019, Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the DC Films franchise as we learn it.
