Zack Snyder Says He Loves The ‘Avengers’ Films But Fans Need To ‘Be Open To Other Things’

During the Watchmen panel at the Zack: Snyder: The Director’s Cuts event, Zack Snyder discussed his feelings towards Marvel Studios’ Avengers films.

Zack Snyder launched the DC Extended Universe with Man of Steel and since then, his divisive take on the classic comic book characters has earned both praise and disdain from fans of the source material. The debate among fans continues as some argue Marvel Studios’ have become formulaic while Zack Snyders DCEU, however flawed, at least attempted to explore different tones and story structure. Zack Snyder himself, on the other hand, noted that he loves the Avengers films but advised fans to be open to other ideas when it comes to comic book movies:

“The thing with comic book movies is… you know I’m a fan. I go and see them, and I love them. I don’t have a… you know, I go and see all the Avengers movies, and I go, and enjoy them. I love it. You don’t have to not enjoy them, but you also have to be open to other things as well.”

Marvel Studios’ Infinity Saga is set to conclude when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters next month.

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow, with Josh Brolin as Thanos.

Avengers: Endgame will be released in theaters on April 26, 2019.
