Zack Snyder Talks Bringing The ‘Justice League’ To Life

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice isn’t only a follow-up to Man of Steel, but it’s also setting up the bigger DC Extended Universe and leading up to the arrival of Justice League as director Zack Snyder is getting ready to start production on bringing the titans of the DC Universe together in Justice League: Part One. Recently, Snyder spoke with WIRED Magazine about the bigger DCEU, how Batman v Superman all sets that up and more.

First he discussed about the consequences of Superman’s action in Man of Steel and how imperative it is for Bruce Wayne as the Dark Knight goes after the Man of Tomorrow.

“To me, the killing of Zod is not as big a deal as the destruction of Metropolis. It’s important that these movies have consequences, that there is collateral damage. In Batman v Superman I wanted to show how Bruce Wayne feels when reduced to a sideline sitter. Batman is frightened by his impotence in the face of that.”

Snyder also talked about the individuality in each hero for the Justice League of America and what his direction is for each and one of them in the larger film universe.

“We’ve been strict with our rules. What they can do – Batman, Superman, Flash, Cyborg – we really are hard on ourselves because we want all those things to have a reality, a mythological grounding.”

In Batman v Superman, we will be seeing the debut of Wonder Woman and Snyder assured that Diana’s introduction in the film will be what the character deserves.

“Female empowerment is a thing I’ve gone after in all my films. They all have strong female representation. It’s about time Wonder Woman was represented correctly.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice comes out March 25 while Wonder Woman comes out June 23, 2017.
