It seems that nothing can stop the new king of Atlantis as Aquaman has officially outgrossed Justice League at the global box office.
The film’s financial prospects are continuing to look bright as many are predicting that Aquaman will remain the number one film here in the United States and continue to perform well overseas. The film has already outgrossed all of its predecessors in China and could very well beat all of them before it ends its theatrical run. And last night, the film completely beat out one of its predecessors.
The Friday box office numbers for the film reportedly came in around $17M in the United States. In addition, the film also earned another $18M overseas bringing its total earnings to well over $666M worldwide. This has put Aquaman well ahead of its direct predecessor, Justice League which only earned over $657M during its entire theatrical run. And from the look of things, it may very well go on to become the biggest DC film of all time.
Did you see Aquaman? What did you think of the film? Does it deserve its success? Did it deserve to earn more than Justice League? Is the film overrated? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
