Deadline reports Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame is shattering records with a $140 million to $150 million opening day at the domestic box office.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame has finally debuted in North American theaters and the palpable anticipation for the film has translated into record-breaking box office success. As of midday Friday, Avengers: Endgame has earned $140 million to $150 million at the domestic box office, besting the first-day and single-day $119.1 million record previously set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Industry estimates indicate the film will gross a total of between $315 million to $330 million this weekend. Furthermore, the outlet notes Marvel and Disney will have 13 of the top 20 domestic openings of all-time by Sunday.
