Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame debuted in China with a record-breaking $102 million opening day gross.
The highly-anticipated Avengers: Endgame debuted in China on Wednesday and the Marvel Studios epic had earned $102 million (RMB681 million) by about 9 p.m. local time on opening day, according to China Box Office. As a result, Avengers: Endgame broke the opening day record in China previously held by the domestic film Monster Hunt 2.
Variety reports estimates put Endgame’s five-day opening gross at roughly $270 million and it could possibly surpass the $300 million mark. If so, Endgame would exceed the $191 million three-day opening weekend Infinity War earned last year.
