Jeremy Renner On Why Hawkeye Wasn’t In ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

With today’s release of Avengers: Endgame, fans will see the return of Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton/Hawkeye, who was completely absent from last year’s Avengers: Infinity War, as he dons the much darker, more violent persona of Ronin.

With today’s release of Avengers: Endgame, fans will finally get to see what Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye was up to during the events of last year’s Avengers: Infinity War. While it was explained in Avengers: Infinity War why Hawkeye wouldn’t be joining the team in the Battle of Wakanda due to being on house arrest after striking a deal with the government post Captain America: Civil War, it turns out there was also a practical reason that Jeremy didn’t reprise his role in the film.

Jeremy Renner sat down talked with Variety and iheartradio’s new podcast, The Big Ticket, and discussed Hawkeye’s absence from Avengers: Infinity War and it turned into a very personal conversation.

“I wanted a vacation. I had stuff to do, man. Take a break. You’re on a Cheerios box all of a sudden. I remember when I was a kid growing up in the ’70s, a Wheaties box, if you got on that was like, ‘Wow, you’re like a big sports star or something.’ I’m on underwear, too.”

We’re you disappointed about Hawkeye’s absence in Infinity War? Are you excited to see Jeremy Renner return as Hawkeye/Ronin in Avengers: Endgame? Let us know in the comments down below!
