‘Preacher’ Recap: S1E5 ‘South Will Rise Again’

Eugene

Poor Arseface. I really feel for this character. I treat him like he’s one of my own sometimes. While not a man with a clean conscious, he’s a guy with a good heart and a deep care for the ones he loves, notably his father, whom often resents him. The scene in the kitchen alone is enough to take your heart and throw it down the garbage disposal. I feel like a protective parent when I see him. I see a man with pure love in his heart and vitriol-filled hate thrown his way, and I just want to reach out and give him a hug through the TV. He deserves to be cherished, no matter what, and I hope he finds redemption soon. He needs it, no matter what his face resemblances.
