War for the Planet of the Apes
Hail, Caesar! Ahead of the convention, 20th Century Fox revealed an incredible motion poster of the upcoming Matt Reeves-directed sequel. The poster captured Caesar preparing for the most intense battle of his life, and just from that one image alone, we got a sense of where Caesar’s motivations may lead him now that war has already begun.
The exclusive footage that was screened at NYCC featured a smaller character moment featuring the apes in an interesting situation. Although the clip shown had unfinished effects, it conveyed a terrific image of what’s to come for Caesar and the apes. Not to mention, Reeves ensured that much of this film will be a brutal war movie, so after two fantastic blockbusters exploring Caesar’s character development, this third chapter will have spotlight on his internal conflict between his own kind and the humans. War for the Planet of the Apes will open in theaters on July 14, 2017.
